Our Story Began in “College” in 1996
Several decades ago, founder Mike Robertson launched White Mountain College for Pets, a training and boarding facility not far from where Clever Critter is now located. Over the years he and his team have served critter-loving families and their dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more.
This premier learning and adventure center has grown and evolved, and is now located in Holderness, on a 15-acre wooded campus complete with luxury suites and personalized attention for overnight boarding, renowned multi-week Lodge & Train programs for dogs, service dog training, day camp facilities, hiking trails and much more.
Over the years, clients have asked us to expand our on-site shop, and help make it easier to find the quality pet products they want. We would often do the legwork for them, but as we browsed online pet shops, we were frustrated by the options: low-quality items always mixed in with the better ones, with no guidance to help pet parents make the best decisions for their lovable pals as well as their budgets.
That’s how and why The Clever Critter was born: to help pet families get more joy out of life together.
